Pump-set
QUESTION
Lately I have been hearing a lot about PUMP-SET, can you please tell me what it is?
ANSWER
The new edition of UNI 11292 entered into force on 14 February 2020. Within it, the term PUMP-SET is used for the first time in Italy.
In point 3.15 the definition of PUMPING UNIT = «PUMP SET is given»:
So the composition of the PUMP SET, as you can see in the figure, is as follows:
- pump
- motor
- coupling system (coupling)
- control panel
All the plumbing and electrical works, other than those listed in the definition of PUMP-SET, pertain to the system. Therefore, they must respond to what the part quoted in UNI 12845: 2020 which deals with networks.
