Unit operation: How often does it have to be checked and by whom?

UNI EN 12845 dedicates its chapter 20 to the operation and maintenance of sprinkler networks. Within it there are also the procedures and the timing with which they must be carried out, for the operation of the pumping units.
The most frequent operations (weekly and monthly) are certainly part of the "vigilance" and are normally carried out by those who run the system.
Those with a longer interval (quarterly, semi-annual, etc.), can also be carried out by external companies, which are entrusted with the task of implementing these procedures.
The correct maintenance of the pumping units is essential to be sure that when they are called to operate, they will be able to effectively deliver the Q and H of the project, for the required time (plant autonomy).
The indications of chapter 20 of UNI EN 12845 are a great progress compared to what previously existed at the regulatory level. Now the system is no longer abandoned to itself and even those who have to check (insurance experts or other professional actors) if the system has been properly maintained during operation, have a very clear point of reference.
It is therefore important to never underestimate what is required by law for the operation and maintenance of the system, and accurately record the operations carried out, so that there remains a trace of what has been carried out.
Idroelettrica's EPRO control units assist you in this by recording every single event concerning the pumping unit, both in number and in duration. A genuine register already on board the PUMP-SET.
